Lt. Col McSally is the nation's highest ranking female fighter pilot and one of the few women on track to make general in the armed forces. She is a graduate of Harvard.  Congress lifted the ban on women in the cockpit in 1993, and she is first woman to log combat time.  She’s flown 100 sorties over Iraq and directs combat rescue missions in Afghanistan.
She put her career and advancement on the line for all women in the military by suing the Defense Secretary over a Muslim garment that has become standard U.S. government issue and mandatory off-base dress for military women in Saudi Arabia.
